In the course of the meeting, Committee members considered and upheld the bill on amendments to several laws of Ukraine re Ukraine’s refusal from implementing non-aligned policy (Reg. No. 1014-3), referred to the Parliament by the President of Ukraine, as corresponding to the national interests of the state.

The bill suggests amending the laws “On the Fundamentals of National Security of Ukraine” and “On Fundamentals of Internal and Foreign Policy” in order to establish legislative pre-conditions for Ukraine’s integration with the Euro-Atlantic security space and ensure protection of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Committee members noted legislative initiative of the President precisely corresponds to the national interests of Ukraine and state policy in the sphere of European integration.

Apart from this, the Committee granted a hearing to the representatives of the Government regarding the state of implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and information on the activity of Government Office for European Integration. Director of the Government Office N.Hnydiuk informed members of the Committee that the first monitoring of the state of implementation of the Association Agreement on the part of central executive bodies will be held on January 10, 2015.
