All proposals submitted by the Government of Arsenii Yatseniuk will allow reform the country and achieve membership in the European Union in the nearest future. Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov said this in an interview to the news agency "LihaBiznesInform" published on Thursday.

Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that "there were no other periods in our country's life when the government had so many difficulties than it is having now", reminding that during the period of forming the government after the Maidan "we had great responsibility and no mechanism of its implementation". "Ruined financial situation, destroyed executive vertical, people with clubs chasing militia workers who are afraid to come out to streets in their uniforms. The country is not completely protected – the system of governance was ruined and deformed", he said. "And at the same time we faced Russian aggression and lack of resources for defending ourselves".

"Under such circumstances Arsenii Yatseniuk managed to handle the situation, to renew management of the country and to prevent the most horrible scenario", claimed the Chairperson of the Parliament. However, we can not say that everything is perfect and we have succeeded. The topic of using a great number of resources for protecting our country from the aggressor has been and is dominant. Step by step, the government is approaching the reforms necessary for our country.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized that the state apparatus is being reduced almost in half, a comprehensive reform of the taxation system has been launched, a number of controlling bodies is also reduced almost in half, and a package of anti-corruption governmental laws are to be adopted.

"The process is on-going. However, the country is going through its most complicated times. Moreover, several initiatives can not be adopted without legislative support in the Parliament as there is no majority after its dissolution", said Oleksandr Turchynov. "I believe that the proposals submitted by the Yatseniuk Government will allow us to reform the country and achieve membership in the European Union in the nearest future".
