The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy met with His Eminence the Most Reverend Metropolitan Ambrosios of Korea, the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Orthodox Metropolis of Korea

On December 13, within the framework of his official visit to South Korea, the Chairman met with a member of the Synod of the Constantinople Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Ambrosios of Korea.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Eminence congratulated the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the memory day of St. Andrew the First Called Apostle.

The Chairman thanked Metropolitan Ambrosios for his commitment to the issue of granting the Tomos of Autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The head of parliament informed the Metropolitan Ambrosios that several hours before their meeting, there had taken place the first worship service performed by the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch, Bishop Hilarion in the St. Andrew's Church in Kyiv.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized the prominent role and courage of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I in the creation of the Single Local Orthodox Ukrainian Church, despite all the threats from Moscow that are being addressed to the Ecumenical Patriarch.

At the end of the meeting, Andriy Parubiy noted that he does believe that the Tomos, which would be given to the Primate of the Local Autocephalous Orthodox Church in Ukraine, have the signature of the Metropolitan of Korea Ambrosios as a member of the Synod of the Constantinople Orthodox Church.

After their conversation, there was organized a sightseeing tour over the most important Orthodox churches of Seoul.
