While his retortive talk to the media on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Parliament stated there would be no cuts on access to the Rada’s sidelines for Ukrainian pressmen. The talk was triggered by and took place in response to the newsmen’s letter of appeal stating otherwise, which had been made public earlier.

“I can’t get over it, I mean the said letter addressed to me as the Parliament’s Speaker. There are lots of pressmen here who have spent years with me at these lobbies, under this roof.  I have recently said and I’d like to say it again – there will be no restrictions upon access of the press to the parliament’s margins. This is my steadfast commitment,” underscored A.Parubiy.

The Chair also supported the journalists’ move to re-launch a clearer accreditation procedure at the Parliament and called on to join in establishing a community (public) board at the Press Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine that could ease the accreditation. The Parliament’s administration was said to have been deeply involved in the process and there has already been certain progress on the issue attained to date.
