"The common stand of the speakers of Lithuania, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and the Poland's Vice-Speaker upon the expediency of introducing sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 and the creation of a unified center for combating hybrid aggression by the Russian Federation will be presented during the meetings with representatives of the US Congress next week," -- Andriy Parubiy

Closing the plenary meeting on Friday, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine A.Parubiy informed that he would pay an official visit to the United States of America next week alongside with the high-ranking officials from Lithuania, Georgia, Moldova and Poland, which was believed to be of high importance.

“Our common stance shall be voiced at talks with Paul Ryan, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and other high-ranking US executives. We all stand for new sanctions over the Nord Stream 2 and for enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation with the aim to launch the unified center for combating hybrid aggression carried out by the Russian Federation,” underscored A.Parubiy.

The Chairman called on to put into practice the British experience he had had the chance to get acquainted with during his recent official visit to the United Kingdom, where a special parliamentary task force had been established to counter the Russian hybrid threats. In his opinion, the Five should also pool up their efforts with the allies from the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom to this end.

"We shall also be hammering away over uniting our efforts on the path of counteracting all the threats that the Russian Federation is today proceeding with not only against Ukraine but against the whole free world," remarked A.Parubiy.

The Speaker then stressed he was confident that it would be a great stride towards establishing an inter-parliamentary dialogue between Ukraine and its key strategic partners, and it would surely elevate the Ukrainian Parliament to a new, higher, level of interaction.
