A.Parubiy thanked John Herbst and the Atlantic Council for the support of Ukraine's regional cooperation
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy met with the Director of the Eurasia Center under the US Atlantic Council John Herbst on Friday.
In the course of the debate, A.Parubiy thanked John Herbst and the Atlantic Council for the support of Ukraine's regional cooperation. Taking the opportunity, he recalled the last meeting in Chisinau, where with the participation of speakers from Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova the conference on strengthening the regional dimension cooperation and on security issues had been held.
The Ukrainian Parliament’s Speaker notified his US interlocutor that on June 8-9 there would be held a forum in Kyiv, where the Ukraine-Moldova-Georgia Inter-Parliamentary Assembly is expected to be brought to existence. He voiced his hope for support of the forum by the Atlantic Council.
In turn, John Herbst emphasized that the planned forum was "an important step for both Ukraine and the region as a whole". He offered thereupon his support in organizing the event and said that representatives of the Atlantic Council and congressmen would be happy to partake in the forum’s work.
