Andriy Parubiy – ‘The EU Association Agreement is not the final goal for Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia. The goal is to blend in the EU’

Last week, there was the 6th Euronest Parliamentary Assembly session – a joint assembly of the European Parliament and parliaments of the Eastern Partnership countries -- held within the precincts of the Ukrainian Parliament.

Opening the Monday Conciliation Board meeting on November the 6th, Andriy Parubiy stressed the Parliament Assembly was a unique place for communication between the EU and the Eastern Partnership colleagues.

The final resolution of the Euronest PA bears an accurate and keenly perceptive title -- “Resolution on the future of the Eastern Partnership - combating hybrid challenges and security threats together”. There is a ringing plea in its text stating “it calls for close political association and economic integration, including the participation in the EU programmes as well as recognize that AA’s with Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine do not constitute the final goal in their relations with EU and to acknowledge their European aspirations”.

The Chairperson of the Parliament expressed his sincere gratitude to the whole Ukrainian delegation and all the members who have had a hand in organizing the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly in Kyiv.
