‘To enter NATO is the point of strategic choice for Ukraine,’ noted Andrii Parubii, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the trilateral meeting within the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s session. The trilateral meeting was also attended by Paolo Alli, President of the NATO PA, and Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament.

A.Parubii expressed his hope to Paolo Alli that Ukraine might host one of the future NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s sessions in Kyiv. The Ukrainian chairperson reviewed the current situation in Ukraine, the increased shelling from the Russian occupants’ side in particular, having stressed that Russia had been accumulating weapons in the Crimea. ‘We feel it to be explicit and obvious threat not only in the regional understanding, but even globally. Owing to that being side by side with the whole world is quite supportive,’ said A.Parubii.

The head of Ukrainian Parliament invited the Georgian chairman to visit Kyiv on July 3 on the occasion of festivities devoted to the 20th anniversary of Ukraine-NATO partnership. ‘It is my strong belief that our cooperation with NATO and Georgia would be of a steady progress,’ counts A.Parubii.

It is worth reminding that the Ukrainian chairperson Andrii Parubii is paying a two-day visit to Georgia’s capital Tbilisi for taking part in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session.

The visit program provides for having numerous bilateral and trilateral meetings, and with the highest level officials among others.
