The Сhairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy visited Poland to take part in the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Seimas of Lithuania and the Sejm and the Senate of Poland.

The visit began with paying tribute to the Ukrainian soldiers, buried in the Wolski cemetery in Warsaw. They met their death fighting in the UPR (Ukrainian People’s Republic) Army for Ukrainian independence in the beginning of the XX century.

The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament held several meetings with Eastern European colleagues - Head of Polish Sejm, Marek Kuchcinski, and Head of Polish Senate, Stanislaw Karczewski.

Mr. Parubiy stressed that they had a fruitful discussion on strengthening cooperation between Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania within the project "Europe of the Carpathians".

He also mentioned the creation of the Baltic-Black Sea Alliance – “the Union of free European countries”. To the opinion of Chairman Parubiy, the slogan of the Alliance might be “United for Peace”. The Chairman also reminded that throughout history every time these states acted together, they always succeed.

Additionally, naming the joint military brigade in honor of Prince Konstantin of Ostrog has been negotiated during the visit.

Mr. Parubiy had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

The Chairman of Verkhovna Rada informed about intention “to make a joint visit to Brussels, Washington and London to remind the American and the European leaders of the importance to reinforce support for Ukraine and to oppose to the continuous danger from Putin's Russia”.
