In his interview for the Rada TV Channel, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, noted that the Revolution of Dignity is not just an event in the past but something that is still underway. He said that without those events on Maidan Nezalezhnosti square in Kyiv, the Kremlin would have exerted its final pressure on Ukraine.

According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada the Revolution of Dignity was a struggle for free speech, freedom of gatherings, European integration and Ukrainian independence.

Andriy Parubiy explained why the Euromaidan continues for him: "The ATO [the anti-terrorist operation] is a continuation of the Euromaidan. As a result of the Revolution many of the Ukrainian men decided to form voluntary battalions that then started to defend Ukraine in its east."

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted that almost every week the Verkhovna Rada starts reforming one or another sector. "This week it is infrastructure and decentralization," he said. Parubiy said that in compliance with the experience of such countries as the Republic of Poland, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, the period of reforms is always complicated.

He said that Ukraine's gross domestic product has already grown by 1.8%. "We see positive trends. I can say that the hardest times have already passed away. I am confident that Ukraine today is going along with the path of victory," Andriy Parubiy said.
