On August 25, 2016, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, took part in the annual meeting of the Ukrainian World Congress at the premise of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Andriy Parubiy met with President of the Ukrainian World Congress, Eugene Czolij. The Chair of the Verkhovna Rada thanked the leadership of the organization for its active work in cooperation of the Diaspora communities in different corners of the world as well as for their support for Ukraine.
"The commitment of the Ukrainians living abroad to support Ukraine is invaluable," the Chairman said.
Later, the Chair of the Verkhovna Rada took part in the plenary meeting of the Ukrainian World Congress with the participation of 137 delegates from 28 countries.
Andriy Parubiy also congratulated the delegates of the annual meeting on the 25th anniversary of restoration of the Ukrainian statehood.
"The fact that yesterday we could celebrate the Independence Day, the fact that yesterday we had an opportunity to watch the military parade is an achievement of all Ukrainians living throughout the world," Andriy Parubiy noted.
