Within the framework of the meeting with Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Loreta Grauziniene, Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Stanislaw Karczewski and the members of the Presidium of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland on Monday, May 30, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii noted that Poland and Lithuania's support "is the most remarkable and important." "We do not have any better friends than Poland and Lithuania," Parubii said.

The participants in the meeting discussed wide range of issues touching trilateral cooperation, in particular, in the field of implementation of reforms, development of democracy and the fight against corruption.

Andrii Parubii noted that Ukraine is currently facing one of the most horrible periods in its history when Ukrainian military men are killed and wounded every day in the east of the country. He also noted that the Russia's actions are "the aggression against the whole civilized world." "This is an attempt to change the security system of the whole civilized world it followed after the WWII. We consider the offensive of the Putin's Russia as a challenge for the whole free world. We are confident that our boys protect not only eastern borders but the peace in the whole world," he said.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada drew attention to the fact that there are no features of any armistice there: "The policy of the Kremlin aims to destabilize the situation in our state as much as possible, to shift our attention from the military component to informational one, however, its aggressive plans continue being on the front burner and active. It shows no intention to stand by the Minsk agreement Ukraine insists on so much," he said. He also called for retention of the sanctions against the Ukraine's northern neighbor.

Andrii Parubii stressed the need for rapid and effective reforms in the country despite of the combat activities in the east of Ukraine. "Ukraine will follow the path of democracy, development and reforms even though not as fast as it is desired by our partners," he said.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada reminded that Ukrainian authorities had managed to achieve particular success in fighting corruption in the gas sector, which was considered to be the most corrupted. He said: "This year Ukraine took no cubic meter of gas from the Russian Federation." He noted that new police has become the flagship of the fight against corruption, judicial reform will be another step in this direction. "All these steps must give positive results," Andrii Parubii said.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada also stressed the need for the cooperation of the three states.

Parubii also said that the three countries have joint aspects for further development of cooperation: transport, security and economic. He offered to involve possible allies in the concept of the Baltic-Black Sea Union and closer integration of this space "important both in geopolitical and economic sense." "Cooperation between Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania is very promising," the Chairperson of the Ukrainian Parliament said.

In turn, Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Loreta Grauziniene offered to support the ATO soldiers at the legislative by protecting their families. "All politicians must not forget about the pain of the wounded soldiers and their mothers. The assistance must be enshrined in a law. The state must do its best to create appropriate conditions for the Ukrainian military men and their families," she said.

She also called for the speediest possible provision of Ukraine with the visa-free regime as far as the country "had fulfilled all obligations it had to do to achieve that goal."

Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Stanislaw Karczewski warned against rapid implementation of reforms. He said that the reforms in Poland were too intensive though they could have been implemented in such haste.
