The 2015 budget has to be adopted not later than December 26. Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman claimed this during the meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the U.S. to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt on Friday.
Chair of the Parliament believes that the next Tuesday the Verkhovna Rada shall consider in the first reading the suggested amendments to the Tax and Budget Codes, as well as the draft State Budget for the next year. After this, Volodymyr Groysman said, it is necessary to make a break in plenary meetings in order to scrutinize the bills in the committees and further consider them in line with parliamentary procedures.
Thereat, he claimed that it is necessary to restrain from populist claims in the course of discussing country’s main financial document and expertly discuss real steps.
In his turn, Mr. Ambassador stressed that discussions of the draft budget promote “development of democracy and parliamentary culture” of the Parliament, having noted in this context that the budgetary process in the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is open and transparent.
