The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatseniuk, offered his congratulations to Mr Lluís Maria de PUIG, President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, on his election to this high-ranking position.

‘Your Excellency,
Please receive my sincere and warm congratulations on your election as President of The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly.
I truly believe that your vast experience of Parliamentary work, the undoubted authority of a consistent, all-round and pragmatic politician, and your steadfast devotion to the fundamental principles underlying the operation of the Organisation will contribute to furthering the establishment of pluralistic Democracy, the provision of Human Rights and the supremacy of Law within the whole of the European lands.
Using this welcome opportunity, I assure you that the extension of co-operation with The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly will continue to remain a priority of the International activities of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
I wish you happiness, good health, and never-ending enthusiasm and success in your important International political and Lawmaking activities.
