This, together with other proposals, is included in the Bill on Amendments to The Law of Ukraine 'On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organisations'.

The Bill (Reg. No. 1276) envisages Amendments to Clauses 13, 14 and 15 of this Law to the effect that a Religious Organisation acquires the status of a legal entity as of the date of its State Incorporation, i.e. on the day, when its Registration data is entered into the Unified State Register.

The Bill sets out the list of grounds for any refusal in the Registration of the Religious Organisation's Charter/Statute.

In addition, the list of bodies to whom the Registrar effecting the registration of the Organisation´s Charter may refer for any relevant explanations is extended.

The Author of this Bill, The People's Deputy, R. Tkach, believes that the passing of this Bill will contribute to the elimination of discrepancies between the Law 'On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organisations', the Law 'On the State Incorporation of Legal Entities and Entrepreuners, Natural Persons', and the Civil Code of Ukraine, as well as a timely resolution of ambiguous matters related to the Registration of Charters/Statutes of Religious Organisations.
