The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy opened the morning plenary session.

The Chairman then informed that the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, headed by the Prime Minister V.Hroisman, were taking part in the meeting.

The questions hour began.

The ministers answered the questions from the floor.

The Prime Minister delivered the government’s position on the ongoing protests associated with motor vehicles registered abroad. Volodymyr Hroisman noted that this problem requires some extra legislative regulation and articulation of a new policy in terms of customs payments, which Ukrainians pay for cars. On the other hand, it is necessary to develop a national legislation to stimulate home motor vehicle production, to create cleared conditions for global automakers to come here and work. But this requires a joint decision.

Reportedly backed by the national police, he then also stressed “there will be no repressive measures hurled down on the rioters”.

He also called on the protesters to “behave in a civilized manner”.

The Prime Minister appealed to parliamentarians to demonstrate a holistic approach in solving the car problem and to lay the case at rest.

After answering the questions, the top-echelon official delivered a government performance brief and thanked the House for the year-long support rendered to the Cabinet.

The questions hour ended at this point.
