Iryna Herashchenko, the First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Liudmyla Denisova, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, had a skype-conference with Dunja Mijatovic, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights.
The talks were later on joined in by Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Affairs Minister, and his deputy Serhii Kyslytsia.
The Ukrainian side congratulated Dunja Mijatovic on taking the office and emphasized Ukraine’s openness to cooperation in joint protecting the human rights and solving humanitarian problems.
The context of the Ukrainian detainees illegally grabbed by Russia in SRDLO and the occupied Crimea was also touched upon during the conference.
Within the framework of the Fourth part of 2018 PACE session, there is scheduled an October meeting between Ukraine’s parliamentary delegation and D. Mijatovic to exchange information and have deliberations on a wider cooperation within the Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner’s mandate.
