Headed by the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian official delegation with Iryna Herashchenko as the First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, will take part in the 72th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, USA on September 18-22.

Mustafa Dzhemilev, MP, as the Presidential aide on Crimean Tatar People affairs, is also included in the delegation.

In the margins of the UN General Assembly, there is a range of official meetings with European and American partners scheduled to take place. At the general debates of the 72th session the President of Ukraine is supposed to deliver a special speech; he also plans to partake in the summit of the United Nations Security Council on peacekeeping issues, high-level events related to reforming the UN, discussions over use of Internet for terroristic ends. The visit is also meant to have a bilateral meeting of two presidents – the President of Ukraine P.Poroshenko and the President of the USA D.Trump.

The 72th session agenda comprises some 180 questions, with peacekeeping and security, fight against terrorism and other criminal activities, human rights and environmental protection issues, social and economic development among them.
