The informal group under the name of “The Minsk platform” met with Kurt Volker, the newly appointed United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations
A group of the fractions’ representatives headed by Iryna Herashchenko, the First Deputy Chairperson of the Vekhovna Rada of Ukraine, a TCG’s humanitarian subgroup representative held a sitting with Kurt Volker, the newly appointed United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations and the US Embassy representatives within the framework of the “Minsk platform” group.
The parties exchanged their views over the security and humanitarian situation in Donbas, the Minsk accords non-performance etc.
The TCG’s humanitarian subgroup representative Iryna Herashchenko informed the other side of the problems with liberation of the Ukrainian hostages held in Russian and the Crimea.
During the meeting Kurt Volker noted that the USA was ready to a more active involvement and coordination into the process of settlement of the conflict in the eastern Ukraine, and reconfirmed that the United States would keep the sanctions burden on against Russia until the Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty be restored in full.
