The morning plenary meeting is concluded.

A.Parubii, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine opened the session. He voiced the greeting words of Antonio Guterres, the United Nations Secretary-General to the UkrainianParliament.

The presiding officer presented today’s agenda. The MPs shifted to their announcements and statements – then to the agenda.

On higher education

Amendments to the law of Ukraine on higher education have been adopted with the draft bill No.6548. The bill regulates the entrance features to higher education establishments situated throughout Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The state-commissioned education limits for all kinds of specialists with higher education are set in their working licenses.

 

The presiding officer announced exclusion of Boryslav Rozenblat from the fraction “Petro Poroshenko Bloc”.

 

On radioactive waste financing

Amendments to the law of Ukraine on radioactive waste management have been accepted under the draft bills No.6435 and 6436. The bills regulate financing of radioactive waste management through a special state fund. Channeling of the funds through the budget programmes is to be initiated by the Committee on Environmental Policy, Nature Resources Utilization and Elimination of the Consequences of Chornobyl Catastrophe under agreement of the Committee on Budget. The main entity entitled to manage the funds is set to be a central executive body dealing with radioactive waste state management.

On rehabilitation of victims of the 1917-1991 totalitarian regime

The draft bill No.6574 has been accepted on the first reading. The bill is aimed to amend the laws of Ukraine on the 1917-1991 totalitarian regime victim rehabilitation in order to define more strictly the nomenclature and the categorization of persons liable to the laws.
