The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy opened the morning plenary meeting.

The Chairman gave the floor to representatives of parliamentary factions and groups who then made their announcements, statements, reports, and proposals.

After the speeches, parliamentarians proceeded to considering issues of the business of the day.

Currently, under debate is a draft resolution No.8598 on holding parliamentary hearings “Education and Science: Clue to Well-Balanced Development of Ukraine’s Human Capital” (December 5, 2018).

The Chairman announced the creation of a new parliamentary inter-faction association "For Language", to be chaired by Viktor Kryvenko, MP.

Parliamentarians considered a draft resolution No. 8624 on holding  parliamentary hearings "Ukraine’s State Environmental Protection Policy: State of Affairs and Development Prospects".

On holding Relay of Unity: Draft resolution No.8088

There has been taken a resolution on holding an all-Ukrainian unity relay on the occasion of the centenary of the Act Zluky (“Unification Act”) that allowed merging the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic into one state. To honour the date, the President of Ukraine, the Parliament and the Cabinet have been commissioned by the document to do the needful respectively.

The celebration plan provides for nationwide commemorative festivities including cultural and educational events, declaration of 2019 to be a year of Ukraine’s unity, holding the all-Ukrainian relay of unity starting on December 1 from the City of Fastiv and finishing on December 22 in Kyiv with participation of all Ukrainian regions, the Crimea, the City of Kyiv and the City of Sevastopol, and building an extension to the Fastiv station complex meant to house the Ukraine’s Unity Museum and many more.
