At the beginning of the meeting, A.Parubiy congratulated the members of the French Parliamentary Friendship Group, visiting Ukraine at the moment.

Long money from IBRD: Draft law No.0163

The IBRD long-term money law has been adopted by the Parliament through ratification of the guarantee agreement signed in Kyiv in 2017. Under the agreement, JSC Ukreximbank gains access to USD 150 million for thirty-five years with a 4.5-year grace period against the government guarantees. The money will be portioned out among small- and medium-sized Ukrainian businesses for their production purposes.  

Ukraine’s paratroops to rename: Draft law No.7330

Under the law, the new appellation of the troops is to be the Airborne assault troops. The change shall be introduced in all the defence-related laws of Ukraine.

Novelties in military service: Draft law No.6052

Under the above bill, there was taken a range of changes to certain military-related laws of Ukraine on refinements to the military service procedure. The law lifts the maximum enlistment age limit (cutoff age) up to thirty years for military student and attendees. The bill also defines grounds for dismissal/discharge of foreign servicemen and stateless persons who have failed to pass the probation period; enables the medically boarded servicemen to go on servicing, etc.

On military service: Draft bill No.6473

Taken on the first reading was the draft law of Ukraine on military duty and military service with amendments concerning voluntary enlistment (military service under contract). The draft law proposes that persons of both sexes be given equal opportunities to conclude a military service contract, stating that women can enter into the contract until they reach the maximum age limit (cutoff age) to join the military.

The draft also provides for the right to the military commissariats (commanders of the military units) to contact the Security Service of Ukraine in order to verify the details of involvement in actions aimed at forcible changing or overthrowing the constitutional system/order or encroachment upon the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine by sending relevant requests.

Investments in renewables: Draft bill No.8015

On the first reading, there was adopted a set of alterations to certain laws of Ukraine on the lure of investments in construction of renewable energy facilities. The bill re-classifies CC1 and CC2 categories of the construction projects depending on their level of consequences for people’s health and life.
