Committee on National Security and Defence

…has heard on progress in the 2017 State Defence Order.

August 29 was the day the committee held hearings over execution of the 2017 State Defence Order. The gathering was attended by well-known core MPs and representatives from relevant ministries, departments, law-enforcement authorities, and manufacturers.

A Deputy Minister of Defence, defence manufacturers’ directors, and a Deputy Director General of the State Concern “Ukroboronprom” delivered their reports on the issue.

Resuming the meeting, the head of the committee remarked that all of the defence order programs should be done by the end of the year in full, and the sittings like that would take place on a regular basis in order to monitor the situation properly.

The experts also called on to put in force the Cabinet’s resolution on formation and control of the State Defence Order as soon as possible as it gives potent instruments to eliminate corruption risks at non-competitive purchases.
