Two committees are today in focus:

Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

…has considered the Prosecutor General’s claim to institute criminal proceedings against three UA Parliament’s MPs: Yevhen Deidei, Oles Dovhyi, Andrii Lozovyi.

Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government

…paid visit to the head office of the federal enterprise Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the municipal government of Miltenberg in Bavaria. The Ukrainian delegates, within the get-to-know-you visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, met with a regional manager of GIZ GmbH who gave them a wide view over the GIZ’s main activities and policies in Europe, Mediterranean area and Central Asia. The GIZ’s fundamentals are transparency and openness of the leadership, affordability of the services to people, participation of citizens in local self-government.

A Ukrainian delegate in charge reported on the committee’s proceedings over legal support to the decentralization and home rule (self-government) reform, the advances achieved, promotion to unification processes over territorial communities, improvement of public administrative services.

The delegates expressed their gratitude to GIZ for its efforts in introduction of a managerial project relating to the eastern Ukraine, a substantial assistance in the assessment works over the state management enhancement, the support in the decentralization reform, the financial backing, etc.

The Ukrainian parliamentarians also visited Miltenberg, a town in Bavaria. The mayor gave them a comprehensive report about the town’s history, explained some local traditions and habits, familiarized with the cultural and arts life of the town, development of the local tourism, the overall town management system, the municipal cooperation, the investment climate etc.
