The parties paid particular attention to discussions on further cooperation with the countries of Europe. Ukraine appreciated Georgia’s boycott over 137th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union scheduled to take place in St. Petersburg (Russia) this autumn.
Ukraine also informed the Georgian colleagues about the local reforms in progress. The anti-corruption reform, introduction of election legislation reforms, and the judicial reform as one of the most important in Ukraine, were examined.
Georgian and Ukrainian parliamentarians both underlined significance of further strengthening of the inter-parliamentary ties and collaboration of our permanent delegations to gain a wider international support in the struggle against the Russian aggression. Equally important were named implementation of international monitoring over the human rights protection throughout the occupied territories and de-occupation of the said lands.
