Four committees are today in focus:

Committee on Construction, Urban Development, Housing and Communal Services

…recommends the Parliament to take the bill No.6472 on the first reading. The draft bill constitutes the law on provision of housing to those whose dwellings have been damaged or destroyed in warfare, and defines the procedure of the housing provision for the indemnitees through the Russian aggression in the SRDLO’s area. The bill runs that the provision is to be effectuated at the expense of public budget in accordance mainly with a distinct funding programme, and other legal sources as well. The committee has approved the draft bill.

Committee on Family Matters, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism

…has worked out a draft bill No.6647 amending the procedure of children’s foreign trip. Due to some recent legal changes multiple foreign trips and foreign trips at a court decision (if the parental consent is absent) for a child are at present prohibited by the Legislator. Both children and parents feel upset about that, especially those kids who constantly take part in sports contests, competitions, etc. or needful of overseas medical treatment. The procedure must thus be simplified with regard to a parental consent and a judgement-related trip for a child. To that effect, the draft bill provides for:

- allows parents to give consent to a three-year term of foreign trips (multiple trips incl.);

- allows a child to trip abroad even though a uniparental consent is obtained by virtue of a court decision or a guardianship body’s permit;

- entitles a court to render judgement on granting child a foreign trip permit (once-off or multiple);

- allows a child to trip abroad even though a uniparental consent is obtained by virtue of a guardianship body’s permit to participate in international contests, competition, or undergo medical treatment, etc., if  supported by relevant documentation.

Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship & Committee on Transport

A joint field session on “Inland Waterways & Shipbuilding: Support and Development” was held by the committees. The agenda consisted of three main points – shipbuilding development, progress in river transport management, advancement of inland waterways. The key tasks for the branch boosting were named to be enhancement of docking and harbour facilities, adoption of a relevant legislation groundwork currently lacking utterly. It is worth keeping in mind the EU Association Agreement stands also for the above. Ukraine ought to build up proper facilities over the navigable waterways – like the EU does – mounting up there kind of logistic multifunctional clusters.
