The Preparatory Deputy Group will suggest that the newly elected Parliament reduce a number of the Verkhovna Rada committees to twenty five. Respective list of committees was adopted as a basis at today's meeting of the Group. 

Chairperson of the Preparatory Deputy Group Volodymyr Hroisman ("Petro Poroshenko Bloc") said this at the briefing for journalists. 

Moreover, V.Hroisman claimed that according to the suggestion of the Preparatory Group, the suggested number of committees can be increased. 

The Chairperson of the Preparatory Deputy Group noted that titles of committees were connected with their competence. He stressed that functional tasks of committees shall be clearly determined and their work shall be of high quality. Volodymyr Hroisman also said that the Preparatory Group members did not discuss the issue on "dividing" the committees among the political forces.  

Answering journalists' questions, V.Hroisman emphasized that the Preparatory Deputy Group will adopt the decision on the order of a solemn opening of the first session of the newly elected Verkhovna Rada next week.   

V.Hroisman informed that the issue on placing factions in the session hall is still being elaborated, and today the Preparatory Group members previously discussed it. The Preparatory Group plans to make the final decision next week.

The Chairperson of the Preparatory Group claimed that no personnel issues were discussed at the meeting.

V.Hroisman stated that the work of the Preparatory Group is "constructive, we have an understanding among working groups".

He also informed that according to the latest information of the Central Election Commission, as of Thursday's evening, 262 people's deputies were registered. 

The next meeting of the Preparatory Group will be held on November 24, at 3 p.m.
