Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov believes that the first meeting of the Parliament of the eighth convocation may be held on December 2 if the Preparatory Deputy Group does not suggest another date, but not later that December 15.
"If
the Preparatory Deputy Group does not make another decision, we can state that
the Verkhovna Rada will
start working on December 2", said Oleksandr Turchynov, opening the
Group's first meeting on Wednesday. Oleksandr Turchynov reminded that under the legislation "after the Central Election Commission announces winners of elections, people's deputies have twenty days to arrange their employment record books, dispose of their representational mandates, and regulate their corporate rights if they have any".
Oleksandr Turchynov mentioned that at the first meeting of the Preparatory Deputy Group it was also suggested considering the issues on electing a chairperson, a deputy chairperson, and a secretary of the Preparatory Deputy Group; on the draft Resolution re the Preparatory Deputy Group on elaborating proposals on preparation and holding of the solemn meeting and plenary meetings of the first session of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation; on establishing subgroups of the Preparatory Deputy Group for specific areas and electing their coordinators.

also informed about authorities of the Preparatory Deputy Group stipulated in
the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Chairperson of the Parliament said that the Preparatory Deputy Group includes nine representatives of the "Petro Poroshenko Bloc", six – from the political party "Narodnyi Front", two – from political party "Union "Samopomich" and two from "Opposition Bloc", one – from Oleh Liashko Radical Party and one from the All-Ukrainian Union "Batkivshchyna".
The Group includes three representatives from people's deputies elected in single-member districts, those who registered as candidates by self-nomination, or were nominated by political parties which did not receive 5% of votes.
