Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov is convinced that Crimea will return to the composition of Ukraine.
“However, its return will be possible under the condition of active support of this process by the majority of population of the peninsula,” said Oleksandr Turchynov in the interview to “Novoie Vriemia” magazine.
According to him, it is necessary to “absolutely cleanse the mainland of invaders by continuing augmenting potential of our Armed Forces; and secure Ukraine’s democratization and systemic economic growth that will lead to full integration of our country with the EU.”
“Even now, those applauding Russian occupants are becoming disillusioned.
However, the return will not take place until the population of the peninsula
clearly realizes that by going away from Ukraine they have lost much more
than “gained”. And then this will become a powerful element of returning to a
democratic, strong and successful Ukraine
from a totalitarian and doomed to permanent crises Russia,” stressed Oleksandr Turchynov.
