The Chairman Andriy Parubiy suggests that the Parliament considers two bills establishing the Local Orthodox Ukrainian Church

With this proposal he appealed to parliamentarians, referring to the request of Patriarch Filaret during the unification council on December 15, when the Ukrainian Church had been proclaimed. "At the council on December 15, when the Local Orthodox Ukrainian Church was proclaimed, Patriarch Filaret appealed to me as the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to replenish the agenda and consider two bills necessary for establishment of the Ukrainian Church," said A.Parubiy.

The Chairman then named the bills: the bill No. 5309 on amendments to the law of Ukraine "On freedom of faith and religious organizations" as to names of religious organizations that make up the structure (are parts) of a religious organization whose nerve center is located outside Ukraine in a state, which has been legally recognized as committed military aggression against Ukraine and/or temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine - which clearly defines there can be only one Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine;

and the second draft law is the bill No. 4128 On amendments to the law of Ukraine "On freedom of faith and religious organizations" (regarding the change in subordination of religious communities), which does simplify the subordination rebound.

A.Parubiy called on members of parliament "to hear the Patriarch Filaret’s plea to include the bills in the agenda in order to consider and uphold them so long as they both are pointed at establishing the Ukrainian Church and will help it gain wider benevolence and support in Ukraine".
