Opening the meeting on Monday, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy congratulated everyone on the creation of the Single Local Orthodox Church in Ukraine. He reminded of the Verkhovna Rada’s role and significance in the establishment of the Single Local Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The chairman informed the participants of the board sitting on the agenda of this plenary week.

Tuesday. He said this Tuesday is to begin with a cluster of national security and defense issues, having also further freezing of alienation of agricultural lands and  private detective activity at stake.

Wednesday shall see ratification issues, by tradition.

Thursday. The focus of Thursday’s debate will fall on fuel and energy problems – it is a block of five points, pre-agreed interfactionally.

"This is the working plan for the final plenary week of this year’s Verkhovna Rada. It seems to me that we have all grounds to go through the week efficiently and productively.  It is extremely important for us to show an effective, coherent work of the Ukrainian Parliament," said A. Parubiy.

The chairman gave then the floor to leaders of parliamentary factions and groups.
