Hanna Hopko, head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, took part in the High-level conference on anti-corruption strategies in the digital era

She participated in the conference within her working visit to Rome, Italy.

In attendance, there were high ranking politicians from the OSCE member states and international topical experts gathered to have broad discussions over combating graft in their countries.

The committee head participated in a panel discussion on anti-corruption institutions and strategies where she spoke about newly created establishments and instruments aimed at strengthening the fight against corruption in Ukraine.  It has been observed, however, there remains still the problem of creating tailored public systems in the EU, which could enable tracking down property and assets of Ukrainian corrupt officials, who try to hide their riches abroad.

Hanna Hopko noted there is an acute need for joint investigative teams to embrace transnational corruption.

In her speech, she also paid close heed to various manifestations of the hybrid warfare Russia wages against Ukraine, including misinformation, informational provocations and other miry tricks which tend to sharpen in the run-up to elections both in Ukraine and the European Union. Prevention of these misdoings remains to be one of the most instrumental tools for protection of national interests.

While in Rome, the committee head is supposed to have a range of meetings with Italian colleagues.
