The First Deputy of the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Herashchenko opened the moning plenary session.

She clued up that the Chairman is out today for a joint working visit to the Donbas, aiming to inspect Shyrokyne together with the head of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

The presiding officer informed that the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, headed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman, were taking part in the meeting.

Members of parliament then made their announcements, statements, reports, and proposals.

The Prime Minister gave ample explanations on poor heating in many Ukrainian cities and towns through gas shortage. At the end of his speech, he also pointed out that within the framework of decentralization the government had transferred UAH 4 billion to local budgets, and these funds are quite enough to arrange the things and start a new heating season on time.  He emphasized that this is now the responsibility of local authorities.

The questions hour began.

The floor was given to the culture minister Yevhen Nyshchuk, who rendered his report on state of play in the ambit of culture.

The Prime Minister and the members of the Government answered the questions from the floor.

The questions hour closed at this point.

After the hour ended, the First Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament Iryna Herashchenko read out parliamentary requests.


The presiding officer closed the meeting.

 

For 12-16 November parliamentarians will have their committee and faction work.

The next plenary meeting shall take place on November 20 – Tuesday.
