At the Parliament’s premises, there took place a joint briefing of the PAC co-chairs M.Kniazhytskyi and D.Rosati summing up the PAC 8th meeting’s results.

Mykola Kniazhytskyi clued up: "During the meeting defence, man-caused and environmental disasters in the Crimea and in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions were discussed, as well as the need to deepen the fight against corruption and reforming of local self-government”.

D.Rosati highlighted Ukraine’s progress in implementing the Association Agreement.  "During discussions with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada and local communities we noted a number of achievements that Ukraine has made over the past two-three years," he said. "I would also like to pay tribute to the authorities for the reform of self-government, de-centralization, as well as efforts made in the health care system, reform of the pension system and public administration," stressed the parliamentarian.

At the same time, he called on for speeding up work on the reform of the electoral system and continuing the reforms over the judicial branch of power, customs, tax system and, especially, the fight against corruption.

In the follow-up to the Eighth meeting of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee (PAC) there have been approved the Final statement and Recommendations.
