Opening the session, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine A.Parubiy notified the Hall that the US Senate had approved a draft Pentagon’s budget for 2019, where Ukraine’s security monetary aid amounting to USD 250 million was itemized. A.Parubiy thanked the American senators for the sustained support of Ukraine.

The birth of a new inter-factional parliamentary association “Right to vote – for out-migrants” chaired by Serhii Kaplin, MP, was announced by the Chair A.Parubiy.

The Chairman gave then the floor to representatives of the parliamentary factions and groups to make their announcements, statements, reports, and proposals. After the speeches, parliamentarians switched over to reviewing the issues according to the business of the day.

On financing “Interreg V-B Danube” cooperation programme

--Draft bill No.0196

The parliament has passed the law “On ratification of the Agreement for funding the Danube transnational programme (Interreg V-B Danube - CCI 2014TC16M6TN001) by 246 ayes.

The treaty was inked on December 7-8, 2017 in Brussels and o December 15, 2017 in Budapest, coming into force at the date when the European Commission is in receipt of a formal note of the Ukrainian government, stating that all the necessary treaty procedures have been properly formalized domestically.

The State Audit Service of Ukraine is assigned to monitor and administer the treaty, the person in charge of control being the chairman of this public body.


Worthy of note

After the fleeting fuss kicked up over the CEC renewal bill, the Chairman finally signed the said bill No.9090 expanding the Central Election Commission’s bench up to 17 commissioners, approved the day before.
