On Metric Convention of 1875: Draft bill No.0181

The Parliament decreed to accede to the above treaty long ago made in Paris. It established the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM), to be supervised by the International Committee on Weights and Measures, in turn controlled by a General Conference for Weights and Measures.  The BIPM acts in matters of world metrology, particularly concerning the demand for measurement standards of ever increasing accuracy, range and diversity, and the need to demonstrate equivalence between national measurement standards.

Accession to the Convention will allow Ukraine to enjoy the rights of a full-fledged member of the Bureau.

On anticorruption court law: Draft bill No.7440

The second reading of the draft anticorruption court law was announced by the Speaker, who also reminded of the topical deliberations recently held with the Venice Commission upon the debatable issues of the law.

It was also pre-agreed with the head of the parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and Justice that any discordancy or inconsistency out of the law should be reconciled on the “up-to-the-House” basis. The Chairman proposed to review all the “up-tos” at the end of the consideration right before casting votes for the bill.

A.Parubiy reminded the bill was overburdened with 1927 amendments.

Parliamentarians considered 235 amendments. The work on the amendments shall be continued at the next plenary sitting.

The presiding officer closed the morning meeting.
