New ombuds-: Man or Woman?

The parliamentarians considered the appointment of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada informed about the three nominees proposed for this post: Serhii Aleksieiev, Liudmyla Denisova and Andrii Mamalyha, all MPs.

Then, after self-deselection by the starter, the other two delivered their office programs to the audience. The voting that followed gave the office to the woman by 280 ayes. Valeriia Lutkovska, the predecessor, was given the bucket by 236 votes.

UAccounting Chamber to re-man

The head of the Subcommittee on State Financial Control and the Accounting Chamber’s activity of the Committee on Budget reported on the decision and conclusions of the Committee on candidates to the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine. Representatives of parliamentary factions and groups took part in the discussion on the issue. Being supported by the Committee on Budget, there had been 22 candidates nominated for the preference voting, with then only nine who managed to pass through that sieve of picking.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy introduced the appointment of Valerii Patskan as the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine. By 309 ayes the nominee has been appointed to the post.
