Second reading bills taken

Draft bill No.2016

By taking the bill, there has been adopted a series of amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine on the protection of children against sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. The legislative instrument has improved the criminal law and brought it in line with international standards in the area of ??combating sexual abuse of children. By law, Article 155 is set forth in the following wording: “Article 155. Sexual intercourse with a person who has not attained the age of sixteen: 1. Natural or unnatural sexual intercourse with a person under the age of sixteen committed by an adult shall be punishable by restraint of liberty for a term up to five years or imprisonment for the same term. The law extended the circle of subjects of Articles 155, 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, by the use of the phrase "close relatives or family members" in the meaning of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The law also supplements Article  302 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Establishment or maintenance of places of lewdness and procuration" with Part 4, which provides for the responsibility for the commitment of such activities with the involvement of a minor through imposing the punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.

Draft bill No.0174

Through taking the bill, there has been adopted the law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria on cooperation in the event of disasters".

The Agreement establishes the general framework for cooperation between Ukraine and Bulgaria in the field of prevention, preparedness and response to disasters, conditions and procedures for the provision of voluntary assistance in the event of disasters in the territory of both states. The Agreement defines the procedure for the provision of voluntary assistance, the procedure for crossing the border and the rules for rescue teams and experts, the procedure for crossing the border for equipment and assistance, the use of aircraft, the cost of disaster relief operations, peculiarities of reparation of damages and payment of compensations.

National Police

The parliamentarians began to review the amendments to the draft law of the Disciplinary Regulations of the National Police of Ukraine set forth under the bill No.4670. There have been reviewed 132 edits from the 223's. Further consideration of the edits will be continued at the next plenary meeting.

 

First reading bills taken

Draft bill No.6070

The draft law "On Amendments to Article 242 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine" was adopted in the first reading under the above bill. The draft bill proposes to exclude item five from Article 242 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, which provides for the establishment of the sexual maturity of the victim in criminal proceedings concerning crimes provided for in Article 155 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
