On behalf of the Ukrainian Parliament the Chairman greeted Ukrainian sportsmen with their fifteen medals harvested, having reminded XII Paralympic Games had started just a while ago in South Korea.

Off the privilege

After yesterday’s viewing of the prosecutor general’s criminal prosecution and detention claims regarding a member of parliament Yevhen Bakulin, the Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the papers. The matter will be hammered away on the Thursday session.

Second reading bills taken

Draft bill No.7161

Taken were some amendments to the law of Ukraine on the handicapped persons’ rehabilitation in terms of disability classification for the ATOees (i.e. the Anti-terrorist operation privies/participants). The bill defines that for persons who undergo irreparable limb (or partly) amputation, loss or related de-functionalization of any other organ, resulted from being directly involved in the ATO conduct or its support, there will be established a lifelong disability category one grade higher or category I.

Draft bill No.5370

Taken were some amendments to the laws of Ukraine on stabilization of the State Joint Stock Company “Chornomornaftohaz” because of the temporary occupation of the Ukrainian territories. The changes were promoted by the President of Ukraine.

Draft bill No.6475

Taken was an amendment to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding preservation and development of home shipbuilding industry. The article 151 of the Code has been complemented with a new wording to establish ‘a special 730-day term for the processing’.

Draft bill No.5694

There will be adopted a series of amendments to some laws of Ukraine concerning refinements in protection of rights for assembly of semiconductor products. The main changes are: new terminology for semiconductor products, new legal and security protection conditions for the assembly, new requirements for a registration request, new appraisal procedure, etc.   

Draft bill No.6023

There will be more changes introduced to a series of laws that refine legal protection of geographical indications through taking the bill, focus of which is on quality of farm products and foodstuffs. The main ins are: new terminology, new legal protection conditions for homonymic geographical indications, new legal protection conditions for geographical indications and grounds for the protection denial, new rights and obligations resulting from a state registration of geographical indications, new appraisal procedure for  geographical indication applications, etc. The above alterations are supposed to be instituted to the Economic and Civil Codes of Ukraine, the law of Ukraine “On protection of rights to indication of origin of goods”, the Ministers’ decree “On State Duty”.
