The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy opened the session.

On behalf of the entire House he expressed his gratitude to American partners having informed those in attendance the United States Senate had sent for the presidential signature the 2018 United States federal budget allowing for USD 350 million in security assistance to Ukraine. With hopes for a quick signing the paper by the President Trump, the Chairman stressed once occured it would be a sizeable stride towards our mutual cooperation and firm victory over the Russian aggressor.

Andriy Parubiy, the Chairman, congratulated Ukrainian students on the International Student’s Day.

It was then announced that the Cabinet members headed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman were in attendance at the meeting.

The “Ask the Government” hour started.

Two issues were highlighted during the hour – a breakthrough in housing and public utilities and positive changes following the 18% hike in scholarships for Ukrainian students initiated by the government.

After the ministers having been quizzed, the hour ended.

Members of parliament delivered their statements, announcements and proposals.

The presiding officer closed the morning plenary meeting.

The fortnight to come: Timing of activities

November 20-24: MPs will be working at their committees and factions.

November 27-December 1: MPs will be having voter education.

The next plenary meeting shall take place on December the 5th, Tuesday.
