Hanna Hopko, Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs addressed an earnest plea to Isabelle Dumont, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Ukraine to convey to the President of France the message from relatives and friends of those “Putin-ly” imprisoned in the Crimea.

She handed over to the French ambassador an open letter addressed to Emmanuel Macron, the President of France. The letter was signed by many, appealing for a breakthrough in the release of Ukrainian political detainees at the forthcoming Macron’s meeting with Putin on this May, 29.

‘We do hope that you, Mister President, would tell Putin in quite blunt terms about that, and would join us in our demand for the release of all the Kremlin’s political prisoners,’ the letter runs.
