21 Feb 2017. An English Twitter of Vekhovna Rada of Ukraine has been launched. English version will allow international journalists, foreign parliaments and government institutions, diplomatic missions in Ukraine and interested citizens of other countries to access the latest information about Ukrainian Parliament in a language that they understand.
English Twitter account of the Parliament is one of the steps to international communications development. Similar practice has been implemented in respective institutions in Poland, Georgia and Lithuania.
English Twitter, which covers the plenary week in parallel with Ukrainian Twitter account, got first 200 subscribers in just a few hours after its launch. It has also received positive reviews from the civil society organizations.
Twitter account in English will also support the English-language Newsletter, which was launched earlier in 2016. As of today, the newsletter has more than 400 subscribers.
