Verkhovna Rada adopts Law "On Ratification of Financial Agreement between Ukraine and European Investment Bank"

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has ratified the Financial Agreement (Ukraine Agri-Food Apex Loan) between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed in Kyiv on December 28, 2015, which takes effect the day this Law comes into force on.

The Financial Agreement envisions that the EIB lends EUR 400 million to Ukraine to finance projects implemented primarily by SMEs and Mid-caps in the agri-food sector, in order to help the country benefit from the opportunities offered by the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (“DCFTA”) established by the Association Agreement with the European Union.

Pursuant to the Agreement, the EIB will provide the funds in maximum 20 tranches each worth not more than EUR 10 million.

Respective bill was registered under No. 0106.
