At the initiative of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Science and Education, the Ukrainian Parliament of VIII convocation adopted four Laws of Ukraine and two Resolutions during its fourth session:
- The Law of Ukraine "On amendments to Law of Ukraine "On higher education" (as to elaboration of staffing table of higher education establishments) (No. 1017-VIІІ dated February 18, 2016);
- The Law of Ukraine "On amendments to Article 7 of Law of Ukraine "On protection of civil rights and freedoms and legal regime on temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine" (as to protection of right to education) (No. 1038-VIІІ dated March 17, 2016);
- The Law of Ukraine "On amendments to some Laws of Ukraine" (as to protection of right of persons living in antiterrorist operation zone to education) (No. 1114-VIІІ dated April 19, 2016);
- The Law of Ukraine "On amendments to Law of Ukraine "On higher education" (as to National Education Quality Control Agency) (No. 1415-VIІІ dated June 14, 2016);
- The Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On parliamentary hearings recommendations on "Legislating of education reform in Ukraine" (No. 1031-VIІІ dated March 16, 2016);
- The Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On holding parliamentary hearings on "Professional education as an element to ensure qualified staff potential of Ukraine: problems and solutions" on June 1, 2016" (No. 1055-VIII dated March 30, 2016).
During the fourth session, the Committee was responsible for the following issues:
1. Financial assistance to science and education in 2016: problems and solutions (17.02.2016).
2. Activity of the Inforesurs state-run enterprise, provision of access to National Electronic Education Database, production and cost of education documents and student ID cards (12.04.2016).
3. Status of financing of academic science and an address of the General Assembly of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (20.04.2016).
4. Implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On state system of bio-security in creation, testing, transportation and use of genetically modified organisms" (20.04.2016).
5. Status of preparation for higher education establishments' admissions process in 2016 and the formation of state order for training of specialists (18.05.2016).
6. Status of teaching physico-mathematical subjects at the educational establishments of Ukraine (18.05.2016).
7. Status of implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On scientific, scientific-technological activity" (18.05.2016).
8. Information about collection, storing and publication of the data contained within the National Electronic Education Database (18.05.2016).
9. Activity of the State Fund for Fundamental Research of Ukraine in terms of the establishment of the National Fund for Researches of Ukraine.
