Communications Committee Chairperson Danchenko meets with European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger

Within the framework of the working visit to Ukraine, European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger met with Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Informatization and Communications Oleksandr Danchenko. The parties discussed the reforms implemented in Ukraine as well as the introduction of the most innovative approaches to reformation of the sector of telecommunications, Internet management policy, cyber security and human rights.

Besides, the participants in the meeting discussed the most crucial issue — the elaboration of the digital strategy and digital agenda for Ukraine, which should be based on the multilateral participation, the dialogue between the state, business and the civil society. They also discussed legislative regulation of freedoms within the Internet and the implementation of the Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on Internet freedom.
