On Monday, July 18, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii summarized the work of the Ukrainian Parliament during the fourth session.

In particular, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said the Ukrainian Parliament had managed to tackle the most crucial and strategic tasks during the fourth session.

On Monday, Andrii Parubii met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine Eliav Belotserkovsky. The Parties discussed the intensification of the bilateral interparliamentary cooperation and details of the forthcoming visits of President of Israel Reuben Rivlin and Speaker of the Israeli Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edelstein.

Andrii Parubii noted high level of mutual understanding and trust between Ukraine and Israel, active cooperation at the level of parliamentary groups of friendship.

First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Heraschenko met with the delegation of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe headed by Hans van Baalen and Petras Austrevicius.

The Parties discussed the issue of sanctions against the Russian Federation, visa-free regime, consequences of the referendum in the Netherlands, implementation of the Minsk accords, consequences of the Brexit for the European Union, and results of the fourth session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of VIII convocation within implementation of reforms and harmonization of the Ukrainian legislation with the European standards.

The Ukrainian Parliament hosted a meeting chaired by First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Heraschenko on the foundation of the Kholodnyi Yar national natural park in Cherkasy region.

The First Deputy Chairperson noted that creation of nature reserves for protection of environment was an element of practical European integration.

The Ukrainian Parliament hosted a press conference with representatives of the parliamentary factions on results of the fourth session of the Verkhovna Rada.

Parliamentary committees conducted a number of meetings also dedicated to the work of the Ukrainian Parliament during the fourth session.

The Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government supported the parliamentary hearings recommendations on reintegration of temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol with Ukraine.

Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Hanna Hopko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Yonet Can Tezel.

The Parties discussed the development of internal political processes in Turkey after the attempted insurrection that took place there recently, as well as the prospects of the Ukrainian-Turkish relations.

The Committee on Foreign Affairs hosted a meeting of people's deputies Hanna Hopko, Iryna Lutsenko, Artur Herasymov, Nataliya Katser-Buchkovska, Ostap Yednak and Leonid Yemets with Acting Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Adam J. Szubin.

The Parties discussed the sanctions imposed by the world community, including the United States, against the Russian Federation for its aggression against Ukraine.

The Committee on Foreign Affairs made a statement following the decisions of the Polish Senate and Sejm of July 7 and 22 on the Volyn tragedy.

The Committee on Corruption Prevention and Counteraction declared the draft law No. 4778 "On investigative activities" to be in line with the requirements of the anticorruption legislation and recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt it as a basis.

Besides, the Committee considered a total of 115 other draft legislative acts.

Over the whole fourth session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of VIII convocation, the Committee on Informatization and Communications had 12 meetings.

The Committee for Security and Defense Affairs had 16 meetings.

The Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety held a roundtable entitled "Ratification of Paris Agreement: What's Next?"

Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations Hryhorii Nemyria was elected the chair of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentarians for Global Action organization.

The Committee on Social Policy, Employment and Pension Provision heard and discussed the information provided by the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine about the results of the audit of the efficiency of state compensation of average wages to enterprises, institutions and organizations, whose employees were mobilized for the special period.

Over the period of the fourth session, the Committee on Financial Policy and Banking conducted 14 meetings.

The Committee on Financial Policy and Banking received 1,312 documents, 211 citizens' addresses and 11 information inquiries.

The Committee for Transport discussed the issue of passenger carriages and motor transport licensing.

Besides, the Verkhovna Rada hosted some other events.
