Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy, Employment and Pension Provision supports draft law on increase of pensions and retention of pension guarantees provided during employment

In particular, the Committee members considered the draft laws Nos. 4608, 4608-1, 4608-2 (updated), and 4608-3.

The members of the Committee supported the draft law "On amendments to some Laws of Ukraine" (as to improvement of pension coverage system, introduction of common principles of granting pensions).

This draft law offers to resume annual recalculation of pensions from March 1, 2017 in view of the increase in the average wage in Ukraine.

Chairperson of the Committee Liudmyla Denisova expressed hope that this draft law would be supported by the people's deputies, and that authors of other alternative draft laws would join the consideration of the questions raised during the legislative act's preparation for second reading.

Taking into consideration the letter from the minister of social policy dated July 12, 2016 suggesting that the Committee not consider the draft law No. 4608, the Committee did not eye it. The legislative act envisions amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine as to introduction of the notional defined contribution pension system and single principles of pension accounting.
