Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii offered condolences to the Conference of the episcopate of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine and the whole community of the faithful of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine:
"I express my condolences to the episcopate, priests of the Latin rite and to all the faithful of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine over the death of Archbishop of Kyiv-Zhytomyr Diocese Petro Malchuk, who was one of the prominent leaders of the Roman Catholic community in Ukraine, the permanent representative of the Roman Catholic Church in All-Ukrainian Council of churches and religious organizations of Ukraine
May God repose of his soul and gives him the Kingdom of Heaven! "
