The draft law No. 4668 proposes to extend the scope of persons eligible for state social assistance, children under 18 (students - 23 years), in case of the death of a parent who has not acquired pension rights and provide the right to receive in this connection only one type of state aid (optional); to determine the conditions and the period for which aid is assigned; to determine the amount of such an aid for each child at the subsistence level for the disabled, regardless of family income.

Corresponding alterations are proposed to Articles 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 of the Law of Ukraine "On state social assistance to persons who are not entitled to a pension and disabled persons."

The project is also expected to amend Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine "On state social assistance to disabled persons from childhood and disabled children" to enable reception for a disabled child simultaneously an aid in connection with  disability and assistance to survivors.

Liudmyla Denisova, Committee Chairperson said about the need to guarantee state financial support for these families. "In the legislative field, there are certain conditions that make it impossible to receive  the pension for children by survivors. Therefore, the government should help such families and provide a total unified approach to their material support," said L.Denisova.
