Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs has met with Head of Committee on Foreign Affairs of German Bundestag Norbert Rottgen, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly Elisabeth Guigou, and Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm Grzegorz Schetyna.

The Ambassadors of the three countries also took part in the meeting.

The parties discussed current situation in Ukraine and the ways to overcome the crisis.

Hanna Hopko thanked the officials for their interest in stabilization of the political situation in our state, support to European aspirations of Ukraine, as well as for their considerable assistance in counteracting the Russia's aggression.

The guests informed that the EU countries expected Ukraine to prove its commitment to the implementation of its part of obligations envisioned by the Minsk agreements to continue sanctions against the Russian Federation, to consolidate the European public opinion.

The representatives of the Weimar Triangle recommended that the Ukrainian side become more public in its work in this field. Besides, the parliamentarians drew attention to the importance of implementation of new reforms, first of all constitutional amendments, judicial system reform, consolidation of national security of the country and deepening of cooperation between the Ukrainian Parliament and the Government.

Hanna Hopko informed her colleagues about the status and prospects of implementation of domestic reforms and drew particular attention to the European integration of Ukraine. Today Ukraine requires powerful support at the national parliaments of the EU countries, European Parliament, as well as in the Parliamentary Assemblies of the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
